UNC Women’s Swimmers & Divers Honored With Scholar All-America Award

The North Carolina women’s swimming and diving team has earned honors for as a College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Team for the fall semester 2013.

Coach Rich DeSelm’s Tar Heels earned a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 in the fall semester and is one of 121 NCAA Division I women’s swimming and diving teams to be so honored.

The CSCAA Scholar All-America program is supported by Nike.

The Team Scholar All-America Award is presented to college and university swimming and diving teams who have achieved semester grade point averages of 3.0 or above.  The award is presented twice annually – once each in the fall and spring semesters.  NCAA, NAIA and NJCAA teams are all eligible for the award.

Founded in 1922, the College Swimming Coaches Association of America is the oldest professional organization of college coaches in the county.

The North Carolina women have consistently been named to the Scholar All-America Teams over the years both under Coach Frank Comfort and Coach Rich DeSelm.
