Bryn Greenwaldt of Augustana will have a busy day as she competes in two NCAA Championships in one day. Greenwaldt is scheduled to swim as well as compete in the high jump at the NCAA Track and Field Championships in the late afternoon.
She has already made history in Indianapolis this week, breaking the Division II NCAA record in the 50 freestyle becoming the first woman to go sub-22 as she posted a 21.92 in prelims.
Greenwaldt’s coach, Andrew Makepeace, has also shown his dual-sport ability. He coaches the swimmers and divers at Augustana. The program had both swimmers and divers make NCAAs.

Stay tuned tomorrow to read Greenwaldt’s story that was featured in the SwimSwam Magazine last summer.
Saw the girl who won the 100 check on her as she got out of the pool. The sportsmanship is so beautiful.
Redefining a “Dirty Double”. I am no longer impressed with a 100 Fly and 100 Back in the same sesh.
Incredible.
Love this! I really appreciate athletes that can excel in more than one sport. I coach high school swim and will work with students who want to do indoor track or other sports during our season (indoor track is usually the easiest to work things out with). As long as the communication is there it can work out (for example, I had a senior this past season who would come to swim practice on Tuesday/Thursday/Fridays- our practices on Tuesdays and Thursdays were after her track practices and track didn’t practice on Fridays).
this gives an appreciation for track and field decathletes and heptathletes competition over two days!
congrats Bryn!
Extremely impressive!
Absolutely incredible.💙💛
This is so cool!
