“Today was a great tribute to our seniors, our team and our amazing alumni,” Head Coach Diana Caskey said. “Strong swim performances and our stands full of women alums from across the years. A special nod to the class of 2004! Happy 20th. So glad to celebrate our senior class in such great style!”
Alice Diakova kicked off senior day in a big way, winning the 3m dive with a score of 309.60. “Really special day to celebrate our seniors and senior diver Alice Diakova delivered, winning both events,” Head Diving Coach Scott Donie said. “Such a privilege to watch her shine both today, and throughout her career.”
The Lions opened up the swimming portion of the meet with a victory in the 200-medley relay. The team of Emily Wang, Ashley Hu, Anthea Wong, and Emily MacDonald finished with a time of 1:41.74 to take first place.
Columbia’s first individual swimming victory came during the 200-free when Emily MacDonald touched the wall with a time of 1:50.80 to earn nine points for the Lions. MacDonald would go on to win the 200-free later in the day with a time of 50.28.

Ashley Hu kept rolling, winning both breaststroke events. She won the 100-breast with a time of 1:02.22, before going on to win the 200-breast with a time of 2:16.93. Georgia Young took second place in the 100-breast, clocking in with a time of 1:04.30. This was her best finish on the day, rounding out her senior season with an impressive top-two finish.

Lorelai Page had the Lions’ final individual win of the afternoon with a first place finish in the 200-back (1:59.80).
In the final event of the day, it was Columbia who took first in the 200-free relay. The team consisted of Emily MacDonald and Sally Ma, along with seniors Georgia Young and Aniston Eyre. It was an extremely close race, but in the end it was Eyre as the anchor who narrowly beat out Lane Murray of Dartmouth by two tenths of a second to end the meet and her career in style.

NEW YORK, N.Y. — Returning to Ivy League competition after the Tate Ramsden Invitational, and competing in its final conference meet before the Ivy League championships, the Dartmouth women’s swimming and diving team lost to Columbia by a score of 202-98 on Saturday in New York.
“I’m proud of our women for stepping up their energy this meet,” said head coach Milana Socha. “They did a great job of getting loud and set a really positive and high energy on-deck presence. It was exciting to see multiple individual event wins, especially to see a string of three event wins in a row at the end of the meet.”
The Big Green claimed four events, including two from first-year Carinn Bethea. The Naples, Florida native, who had multiple outright victories during last weekend’s Tate Ramsden Invitational, was first in the 1000 free (10:10.01) and the 500 free (4:53.43).
Julianne Jones broke a pool record, in addition to several meet records, last weekend at Karl Michael Pool and added to her impressive sophomore campaign on Saturday after winning the 200 IM with a time of 2:03.62.
Sandwiched between Bethea’s victory in the 1000 free and Jones’ triumph in the 200 IM was Jamieson Legh’s first-place finish in the 100 fly (55.30). Those three consecutive wins meant the Big Green won three of the meet’s last four events.
Dartmouth upped its scoring by 20 points compared to last season’s meet with Columbia, which featured two event victories.
“We had a hard week of training and while their legs may not have been fresh, they certainly didn’t let that stop them,” Socha added. “This bodes well for championship season!”
After the Boston Open Invitational, which begins on Friday, Feb. 9 at Boston University, the Big Green will head to Brown for the Ivy League Championship (Wednesday, Feb. 21 through Saturday, Feb. 24).
