WASHINGTON – Georgetown University’s men’s swimming & diving team captured a 199.5-100.5 win on the road over NJIT on Saturday afternoon.
ON THE RECORD
“Really proud of the men’s progress this month. We’re doing some really good work during the week and they’ve been able to perform despite how broken down they’re feeling. Excited to get home and race on the Hilltop the next two weekends.”- said Head Coach Jack Leavitt about the meet.
MEN’S HIGHLIGHTS
- John McEachern, Bailey De Luise, Nate Lamers and Connor Brennan kicked off the meet with a first place finish in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:31.78.
- In the 1000 free, Jack Januario (9:43.47), Conor Jellig (9:50.33) and Michael Mostofi (9:57.37) finished first, second and third, respectively.
- With a time of 1:42.87, Jack Brearton finished first in the 200 free.
- The Hoyas swept the podium in the 100 breaststroke with De Luise (55.90) finishing first, Ansen Meyer (57.17) in second and Nick Pezzella (57.44) in third.
- Gabe Gonda, Tomo Nozaki and Matt Gibson took first, second and third in the 200 butterfly with times of 1:51.67, 1:55.13 and 1:55.63, respectively.
- The Blue & Gray captured a sweeping win in the 1m dive with Nicolas Santiago (295.70) in first, Charlie Reichle (268.70) in second and Kyle Maziarz (262.10) in third.
- In the 3m dive, the Hoyas conquered the podium with Hriday Parekh (309.70), Santiago (300.05) and Reichle (299.70) going one, two and three.
- Jellig and Brennan went one and two in the 100 free with times of 47.00 and 47.41, respectively.
- In the 200 breaststroke, Pezzella took first place with a time of 2:05.71.
- Januario captured a first place victory with a time of 4:40.61 in the 500 free.
- In the 200 IM, Brearton finished first with a time of 1:53.44 while Pezzella finished second with a time of 1:58.05.
