Air Force’s Clarke, SDSU’s Nyiradi Earn Mountain West Weekly Swim & Dive Honors

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Air Force senior Allana Clarke has been tabbed the Mountain West Swimmer of the Week while San Diego State’s Reka Nyiradi earns Freshman of the Week honors.

SWIMMER OF THE WEEK

ALLANA CLARKE, AIR FORCE

Senior, Colorado Springs, Colorado / Rampart HS

  • Helped the Falcons to a head-to-head win over CSU-Pueblo at the Intermountain Shootout.
  • Placed first in the 50-meter butterfly with a time of 25.53, the sixth-best time nationally during the opening weekend.
  • Finished first in the 100-meter fly with a time of 56.34.
  • Contributed to the Falcons’ winning 200-meter medley relay team with a finishing mark of 1:43.76.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

REKA NYIRADI, SAN DIEGO STATE

Swimmer, Budapest, Hungary / Kolcsey Ferenc Gimnazium

  • Helped the Aztecs extend their winning streak to 54 consecutive dual-meet victories with wins over Cal Poly (128-71) and Fresno Pacific (132-38) on Saturday.
  • Finished first in the 200-meter freestyle with a time of 1:50.52.
  • In the head-to-head meet against Cal Poly on Friday swam the butterfly segment of the Aztecs’ “B” team in the 200-meter medley relay, which finished second in 1:46.26, helping to secure the 150-135 win against the Mustangs.
  • During the double-dual on Saturday, contributed to two winning team titles in the 3×100-meter fly (2:52.15) and the 800-meter free (7:44.67).
