The U.S. World Championship swim team is making final preparations to lift off from Dulles International Airport as they head to Bilbao, Spain.

The flight has already been delayed 30 minutes (despite the plane having arrived at the airport hours ago), but no fear, as they are scheduled for a 3 hour and 55 minute layover in Frankfurt before heading on to their final destination of Bilbao late Wednesday afternoon. They’ll remain in Bilbao until next Wednesday, July 23rd. They then head to Barcelona where the World Championships will be held.

Earlier today, Missy Franklin had her last practice with the Colorado Stars (after returning from Worlds, she’ll begin training with Cal), but her long-time coach Todd Schmitz who has led her to so much success at the Olympics and beyond, shared a few snaps of the team hanging out in the airport.

I wonder if they are going to make another fun video like last year’s parody of “call me maybe”

i really hope so, that was so much fun, and awe-inspiring (for us americans at any rate lol)

now Kathleen & Alyssa arent around this time round, but someone else will prob step up to help produce yet another classic vid. maybe a take on the harlem shake?

well so long as they refrain from using gangnam style for the theme music, or any Bieber songs (sorry Missy haha)

I gave the video two thumbs up from my two google accounts.

That video is infinitely better than the stupid boring harvard’s baseball team one.

Thanks for these,

Most heaviest concentration of medals is on the second to last picture. The medals must be magnetic.

As you’re publishing these kinds of photos, it’s probably a good indication that we’re going to see similar photos taken in the training camp. I’m interested in pool and training facilities.

I love stuff like this. Just plain fun to evesdrop on the national team. I feel sorry for them because I remember Dulles and it wasn’t the most entertaining airport in the world. Go USA!
