Missouri State Women Land 12 on MVC Scholar-Athlete Team

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – After securing its sixth-straight Missouri Valley Conference title last week, the Missouri State women’s swimming team garnered 12 scholar-athlete selections, the league announced today.

Hailey RissingerKelly Sego and Sami Roemer headlined the Bears with 4.0 GPA’s, respectively.

Representing the MSU senior class was Adriana AvilaAlex ThorsonAnna Miller and Kellie Fischer while juniors Alessia PuleoGrace Beahan, Rissinger and Jordan Wenner were also selected.

Rounding out the Bear’s MVC Scholar-Athlete list were sophomores Anna LucasCabrini Johnson, Sego and Roemer.
“I am proud of this group for excelling in the pool but most importantly in the classroom,” head coach Dave Collins said. “They are leaders on campus and make it a priority to be high performers in all aspects.”

MVC Scholar-Athlete honors require athletes to have completed at least one year and maintain either a 3.3 grade-point average and obtain all-conference honors, achieve a 3.5 grade-point average and finish top-16 in an individual event at the conference championships, or maintain a 3.8 grade-point average and participate in the MVC championship (including non-scorers).
