Missouri 100 Breaststroke State Champ Brayden Cole Commits to UIndy

Brayden Cole, a current high school senior from Carthage, Missouri, has committed to swim for Division II University of Indianapolis. Cole will graduate from Carthage High School in spring 2020 and join the Greyhounds’ class of 2024.

Cole currently swims for Berzerker Swimming under coach Shawn Klosterman. He also swims for Carthage High School where he is the record holder in the 100 breaststroke. At the 2019 MSHSAA Class 1 State Championships, Cole was the state champion in the 100 breaststroke (56.69).

He won the 100 LCM breaststroke (1:08.83) and placed 3^rd in the 200 LCM breaststroke (2:37.44) at the Arkansas Swimming Long Course State Championships. He is also a Winter Junior National qualifier.

At the 2020 GLVC Championships with the Greyhounds, Cole would have placed 17^th in the 100 breaststroke with his current best time of 56.49. This time would have made Cole UIndy’s 4^th fastest 100 breaststroker at this meet.

• 50 freestyle – 22.64
• 100 breaststroke – 56.49
• 200 breaststroke – 2:12.25

UIndy won the 2020 GLVC men’s conference championship —nearly 50 points ahead of the 2^nd place team. Three Greyhounds were given Cosida Academic All-Honors. The Indy men were in 6th place after day 1 of the 2020 NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships before the remainder of that meet was cancelled due to the global coronavirus pandemic.

Cole will begin his swimming career at the University of Indianapolis fall 2020.
