Angeliki Maria Argyropoulou, a current high school senior from Athens, Greece, has committed to swim for Division II University of Findlay in Findlay, Ohio. Argyropoulou will join the Oilers’ class of 2024.
Argyropoulou is a current swimmer for Hellenic Aquatics (Κολυμβητική Ομοσπονδία Ελλάδος), the Greek national aquatic federation started in 1927. She specializes primarily in the breaststroke events.
Argyropoulou will make an immediate impact on the Oilers when she arrives in Findlay. This year at the 2020 GMAC/MEC Swimming and Diving Championships, Argyropoulou would have placed 2nd in both the 100 breaststroke (1:04.26) and the 200 breaststroke (2:19.19) with her current best times converted to yards.
Current Findlay senior Hanna Cederholm placed 1st in the 100 and 200 breaststroke at GMAC/MEC. With Cederholm graduating from Findlay this spring, Argyropoulou could come into the team as the top breaststroker.

At the GMAC/MEC Championships this year, the Oilers placed 2nd as a team under coach Andrew Makepeace. The team broke multiple records throughout the course of the meet, and 8 swimmers achieved All-American team status. Twenty-three swimmers were given All-Conference distinction and 10 qualified for NCAA DII Nationals. In addition, team member Hanna Cederholm was named Athlete of the Year.
Argyropoulou will begin her swimming career at the University of Findlay fall 2020.
