Michigan High School Runner-Up Zane Rosely Verbally Commits to Kentucky

Walled Lake Northern High School senior Zane Rosely has verbally committed to the University of Kentucky. Rosely was the 2019 Michigan High School Division II (mid-sized schools) runner-up in both the 100 fly and 200 IM, and he was also the Michigan Open Championships winner in the 400 IM while representing his club team Club Wolverine.

The butterfly and IM races are Rosely’s forte, and he made big leaps forward especially in the medley events as a junior. In the 200 IM, he dropped more than 4 seconds from a 1:53.9 to a 1:49.7 as a junior, and dropped exactly 4 seconds, from a 4:03.0 to a 3:59.0, in the 400 IM.

Next fall, he’ll join an IM group that will have just lost to graduation Glen Brown, who was 6th at last year’s SEC Championship meet in the 200 IM. The Wildcats helped address that departure in the class of 2019 with the addition of 1:49.4/3:52.8 IMer Tim Ellett.
