There really isn’t any new news to report with today’s final release by USA Swimming of the 2012-2013 Grand Prix schedule except just that: nothing has changed from previous information.
USA Swimming will stick with a 6-meet Grand Prix Series featuring stops in Minneapolis, Austin, Orlando, Mesa, Charlotte, and Santa Clara. (see a full breakdown of this year’s schedule here, first reported back in July).
Some thought that perhaps there was an opening in March to fill in a familiar host, like Columbia or Columbus or Indianapolis, but instead USA Swimming will simply skip that month in the schedule.
This number is a decrease of one meet from last season’s series.
USA Swimming has also extended the qualifying standards from the Minneapolis Grand Prix in November (also already revealed) to all of the grand Prixs, including the A/B time standards. See those time standards here, and read more about the time standards here.

That’s a very interesting question…accrued versus actually earned. I’ll ask someone and let you know.
