ATAC’s Seth Bailey Commits to Tennessee

Arkansas High School Record Holder and Winter Juniors Qualifier Seth Bailey has given his commitment to continue his swimming career with the Tennessee Volunteers.

While representing Batesville High School, Bailey brought home five Arkansas individual titles, taking the 100 Freestyle for three consecutive years in and the 200 Freestyle during his 2017 Junior and 2018 Senior year.  At the 2018 AHSAA meet, Bailey claimed State Records in the 50, 100 and 200 Freestyle events, earning Scholastic All-American Honors in the process.

As a youth, Bailey enjoyed several sports, but quickly found swimming to be his favorite.  He participated in local, seasonal swim leagues until age 12 when he found a home with Coach Chad Price at Shark ATAC in Searcy, Arkansas.  Under Price’s guidance, Bailey has been a finalist at the King Marlin Pro-Am and NCSA Junior Nationals, and has achieved Winter Junior National cuts.

Bailey plans to major in Architecture during his time in Knoxville.

“I chose Tennessee because I fell in love with the team and the coaches. I feel that this team will help me grow as a swimmer and as a student.  Their amazing architecture program will help propel me into my future career.  I am very proud of the fact that I will be a part of an SEC team.  I will fit in perfectly with the fast paced training and swimmers at Tennessee.  I will not only become a better swimmer at Knoxville, but a better person in the process.  The University of Tennessee felt like a home away from home.  Go Vols!”

I love it when the academic programs & student-athlete’s future career path play a role in the decision-making! So smart and forward thinking. Well done, and best of luck Seth!

Right on! Architecture at TN is perhaps it’s greatest academic program. I undestand they specialize in building with lego blocks and popsicle sticks.
