Colorado Backstroker Kaitlyn Griffith Selects Kenyon for 2017-18

Kaitlyn Griffith, a senior at Lewis-Palmer High School in Monument, Colorado, has committed to swim for the Kenyon College Ladies beginning in 2017-18.

“I am beyond excited to be attending and swimming at Kenyon College next year! Thank you to everyone who has helped me through this process. I couldn’t do it without my coaches and family at home and my coaches and soon to be family in Gambier, OH! Can’t wait to be a Lady!”

Griffith was a two-time championship finalist at the 2017 CHSAA Girls 5A State Championships, finishing 7th in the 200 IM (2:09.44) and 5th in the 100 back (56.68). She also contributed to Lewis-Palmer’s fifth-place 400 free relay. Griffith also swims year-round for Woodmoor Waves in Colorado Springs. At the Federal Way Sectionals earlier this month, she picked up new PBs in the 50 back and 200 back. Her top SCY events include:

  • 50 back – 27.18
  • 100 back – 56.68
  • 200 back – 2:02.94
  • 200 IM – 2:09.16
  • 400 IM – 4:39.21
  • 50 free – 25.00
  • 100 free – 54.15

Griffith will join the Kenyon women’s team with fellow class of 2021 commits Alexis Vetrano, Crile Hart, Julia Moran, Kate Alexy, Marissa Wolff, and Myanna Cook.
