Kenyon Ladies Secure Verbal Commitment from In-State Julia Moran

Julia Moran of Cincinnati, Ohio has given a verbal commitment to Kenyon College for 2017-18, joining her brother, Liam, who is a sophomore swimmer for the Lords.

“I am thrilled to be a part of such an amazing school and team. Go Ladies!”

Moran is a senior at Ursuline Academy in Cincinnati and swims year-round for the Mercy Healthplex Sea Wolves under coach Aaron Dorfman. She placed 12th in the 200 free (1:53.44) and 11th in the 100 free (52.02) at the 2016 Ohio State High School Division I Championships, and contributed to Ursuline’s 5th-place 200 free relay and 14th-place 400 free relay. As a freshman she helped Ursuline with the Division I state title and anchored the state-champion medley relay. Moran is a multi-sport athlete (she plays golf, too) and earned Ursuline’s Scholar Athlete award given to the multi-sport athlete with the highest GPA.

Her top times are:

According to her mother, Moran “looks forward to training under Head Coach, Jess Book and Assistants, Fernando Rodriguez and Doug Lennox. Julia will add depth to the Ladies’ freestyle group. Her times in the 100 and 200 Free are inside the Division III ’17 NCAA B standards and her 200 Free time was inside the ’16 NCAA invite time standard.”
