The Rio de Janeiro city government released its monthly 2016 Olympic Games venue construction update report this week. Β Within the report, data shows that work at the main competition cluster of Barra Olympic Park is now 92% complete, up 3% from Septemberβs report. With less than a year out from the Opening Ceremonies, a total of 12 venues across the two Olympic Parks, Barra and Deodoro, are at least 90% complete.
The report reads specifically that the Olympic Aquatics Center, the venue at which competitive pool swimming and water polo events will take place, is now 94% complete, up from 89% in September. The Athletesβ village has also notably progressed, bumping up its completion percentage from 91 last month to 97 for Octoberβs report.
