Better late than never: here are the results for the first day of the 2015 Men’s NCAA SwimSwam Pick ‘Em Contest
SCORING
We’re trying a new scoring methodology this year. Correctly picking the winner of a race will earn you 5 points. Correctly picking a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th place finisher will earn 4 points. 1 bonus point will be awarded for each swimmer correctly picked to finish in the top 4, but in the wrong position.
DAY ONE RESULTS
Congrats to natee for winning the opening day of the contest, with 51 points. Natee capitalized on the 200 free relay and the 50 free, where he picked seven of eight combined top four finishers in their correct place. Stumpy058 was second with 50 points. Notably, only 64 of 766 respondents finished with more than 40 points after the first day. Give yourself a pat on the back if you were one of them!

I picked “OTHER” for both the 500 Free and 200 IM. For some reason, these picks didn’t get transferred from Survey Monkey to the spread sheet. Survey Monkey made sure that everyone made 4 picks for each event. If I didn’t pick someone in the top 8 I must have picked “OTHER.” Did anyone else notice this problem?
Yes, I think I’m also missing points for my “other’ choices. either that, or I really don’t understand the scoring.
