Andrew Wilson Obliterates D3 200 Breast Record in Prelims

  2 Hannah Saiz | March 21st, 2015

Go slow? Out of the question. Once more, Emory’s Andrew Wilson has proved what an incredible talent he is in the pool, this time with huge time drop in the men’s 200 breaststroke record from prelims. The D3 NCAA record was set at 1:57.79 by Rory Buck of Whitworth in 2011.

Wilson cut more than 3 full seconds off that time to post a 1:54.68. In prelims. The next fastest athlete in finals is almost five seconds behind him. It’ll be a race for second.

Wilson’s prelims splits:

  • 26.14
  • 29.44
  • 29.35
  • 29.75

If we are doing Division I comparisons, Wilson’s 100 breast final would place him higher. However, there’s always tonight, and so far, this Eagle hasn’t disappointed.
