The girls’ 50 butterfly semifinal on Saturday saw a few different records fall with Andreanne Bourseul setting a new championship record en route to her win of 26.03, and Carlota Rodriguez Alcaide setting a new Spanish record time of 26.35 to qualify 2nd.

Bourseul stopped the clock in 26.03, a new best time, taking two tenths off the 26.24 she swam in June at the French Elite Championships.
She earned the top seed and took seven hundredths off Lana Pudar‘s 2023 record time of 26.10. She also inched closer to the French age record time of 25.89 set by Melanie Henique back in 2009.
In the 2nd qualifying position, Carlota Rodriguez Alcaide swam 26.35. This swim took two tenths off the Spanish record time of 26.57 set by Lidon Munoz in December of 2019.
Rodriguez Alcaide cut three tenths off her best time of 26.61 set in May of 2026 at the Mare Nostrum stop in Barcelona.
The two will race again in the final of the event tomorrow.
