When’s he going back to the 200 fly? Stop messing around with these random events!

MA and his parents wish MA didn’t have competition in the 50s and 100bt but alas MAs odds of malign LA are slipping through his fingers as elite athletes are taking the sport by storm in multiple events.

Congrats Van (I just knew the discussion would skew toward MA)… If Murphy and/or Armstrong can get back to peak form, USA medley relay will be looking very strong… Whoever steps up on backstroke + Mathias + Kharun/Casas + Alexy/Guiliano

How many times has an American record been broken with a stache? How many times since 1972?

My only contribution to this is Coleman Stewart.

Not sure about his Amercan record total, but John Naber broke the 100 & 200 back WRs twice each in ’76, and I’m pretty sure he kept the signature stache full-time in those days.

It’s just so unfortunate would have happened with MA achievements had he and his family weren’t so stubborn.

MA was hugely talented.

about now MA’s parents are going to anonymously hop on and brag about MAs world record without mentioning it was in a relay.

I’m willing to give him a taper meet or two with his dad as his coach again before I totally write him off.

I’m not optimistic, but I think he’ll at least get close to a PR in one of the 50s.

MA doesn’t taper. wonder what he’ll do for a living when he doesn’t make la 2028?

Even if he does make it, he’s going to have to figure out what he’s doing to do after swimming. It’s not often a swimmer didn’t go to college.

he did liberty online but MA hasn’t learned to work as part of a team. lacks marketable skills beyond making watch-me-amateur-surf videos.

I mean he might, I think he started lifting

But my information is based on one random YouTube video from like 5+ years ago so maybe I’m wrong lol

Idk I cannot see him beating Mathias or McKean. Mathias is also in the 50 fly, and Ilya is right there too

He is definitely gonna be on the relay and would be surprised if someone other than him on it

Wild to think Michael Andrew no longer has a single Individual SCY, SCM, or LCM American Record.

not all that surprising. living a life of leisure catches up to all, even MA!

Does he still have 8,000 NAGs?

I will die if all his 400 IM ones are the only ones still around

has a couple junior nags. many a parent, in multiple sports, can boast about their kids’ junior records, heck mine held a national 6th grade record for three years, but MA was a freak size so just had to dive in to win against kids half his size.

He still has a bunch of SCY 13/14 & 15/16 records. Still one 17/18 also (50 Br)
