Seattle Academy competes in the Metro League at the 3A classification. As this is the inaugural year of our Girls Varsity Swim program, we are seeking a talented, engaging, and compassionate coach to not only lead the team competitively, but also help establish the foundation of the program by developing team culture, values, traditions, and norms. This coach will help advance our vision of being an inclusive community of learners that provides an outstanding education for each individual in a diverse student population. We are looking for coaches who understand best practices in their respective sport and are passionate about coaching and enhancing student life. Upper School practices are held up to five days a week with up to one competition per week.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Knowledge of given sport and teaches appropriate fundamentals, techniques and skills.
- Is responsible for the health and safety of the student-athletes.
- Articulates a well-defined and understandable coaching philosophy.
- Applies developmentally appropriate and age appropriate methods to coaching student-athletes.
- Emphasizes sportsmanship and leadership among athletes.
- Clearly communicates to players, parents, administrators and staff.
- Positively motivates athletes and promotes teamwork.
- Attends all meetings and training as required by the league and/or Athletic Director.
- Is familiar with and complies with all policies and regulations as put forth in the schools documents.
- Since safety and security are everyone’s responsibility, take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, faculty, staff, equipment, materials and facilities.
SALARY:
Salary Stipend for Head Coach is $7,000
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Demonstrated competence and experience in coaching.
- Must possess or be willing to obtain a valid First Aid/CPR card
- Must possess or be willing to obtain a valid Life Guard Certification
- Completion of all WIAA certifications.
