2026 NCAA ‘A’ finalist Abdalla Yousseff Nasr has announced he will transfer from Auburn to Florida. Nasr just finished his freshman season and has three years of eligibility remaining.
He was the Auburn’s highest scoring swimmer at the 2026 SEC Championships as he scored 47 individual points including a 5th place finish in the 200 fly (1:41.02). He also was 9th in the 100 fly with a and 23rd in the 500 free while swimming on Auburn’s 400 medley relay that placed 4th.
He went on to qualify for the 2026 Men’s NCAA Championships in Atlanta. There he scored 16 individual points at and was highlighted by an 8th place finish in the 200 fly, touching in a 1:40.68. He swam a lifetime best 1:39.59 for 7th during prelims, a time that would have been 7th in finals. In addition to his 200 fly, he also was 12th in the 100 fly (44.65) for for five points.
He split a 44.23 on Auburn’s 400 medley relay and a 1:33.35 lead off on their 800 free relay. His lead off split in the 800 free relay would have been faster than two of Florida’s flying start splits at NCAAs.
The Florida men finished 2nd at the 2026 NCAA Championships with 416 points. Texas won the team title with 445.5 points. The Florida men were led by Josh Liendo as he won the 50 free, 100 free, and 100 fly. Nasr’s 16 individual points would have made him Florida’s t-7th highest scorer at 2026 NCAAs.
Nasr is the 2nd big time transfer to announce his commitment to join the Gators this fall as David Johnston will arrive from Texas. Johnston did not compete this past season.

Any Idea where Botazzo from the womens team is transferring to?
At some point someone needs to check to see what is happening at Auburn. Small SEC-mandated roster that I don’t think they were even able to fill on men’s side. Lots of swimmers in portal. Lots of comments about toxic culture and lack of actual. A far cry from the days of Auburn glory.
The odd thing is that this seems to have been the case for over a decade, regardless of who the head coach is.
Is Texas fried?
Big mistake.
No Americans need apply I guess
btw, I guess 2 🇹🇳guys are already Gators, and 🇪🇬 guy graduated UA, however you never know what will future bring …Aside from 💰reasons why some athletes are making the transfers are quite interesting….
Think Florida secured Koch’s commitment. These two + a Jonny Marshall that isn’t sick and NCAAs is looking interesting… Only thing that I think was left was a breaststroker. Don’t know how many 100 breaststrokers they’ve got going on right now.
I wonder what’s up with Marvin Johnson – I thought he was gonna be the next big thing
Maybe he will make a 2nd year leap like Julian Smith did and a few others before.
Yeah he didn’t go a single best time this season. Feel like there’s no room for that in an SEC program in 2026
Then that would stand for Paul Dardis as well.
Look past their World Champions and the emperor has no clothes…
Good for him, his future is bright
