Regan Smith Leads All Earners With $52,000 at 2026 China Open

2026 CHINA SWIMMING OPEN

54 swimmers shared $826,000 in prize money at the China Open in March, in addition to appearance fees of up to $20,000.

That field was led by Americans’ Regan Smith and Kate Douglass, who won $52,000 and $38,000, respectively.

They are, incidentally, two of the three highest earners through two stops of the USA Swimming Pro Swim Series this season, where Smith has earned $11,000 and Douglass has earned $7,500 (the latter only competed in Westmont).

American women were the big earners at the meet, with Smith, Douglass, and Walsh taking three of the top four spots – with Walsh tying for 4th alongside China’s Yu Zidi and Zhang Zhanshuo. The top male performer was Italy’s Thomas Ceccon, who earned $32,000 at the meet.

Note: per the official documents, all prize money is subject to a 20% tax.

Zhang Zhanshuo won 4 golds, so should be second on this list with 40k.

Surprised to see that the numbers in the prize money table still haven’t been corrected since yesterday.

Would love to see the Walsh sisters, Regan and KD on a SS pod where they debrief the China Open and everything they got to experience there.
Similar to this one in 2024 after World Cups.

Sure is a lot of anti-China in this thread.

Irony much, America?

(The downvotes will amplify my point.) 😂

SwimCoach

If you receive up votes you are right. But if you receive down votes you are right. Cool.

I don’t hate on China other than the farce that was was the 23 swimmers and TMZ episode.

Hoping Pan can round back into form.

Certainly Not The Elephant In The Room

And I also want to add that things are pretty bad if the typing of the American President’s name gets an automatic Await Approval. 😂

It’s a little hypocritical for Regan to be so pro America and then take money from “communists” like this

How dare you call our MAGA Queen hypocritical! Anyone who doesn’t Stan Regan and Sydney Sweeney should move to China as far as I’m concerned

I’m glad you at least described her correctly.

Certainly Not The Elephant In The Room

Wow! Look at all those downvotes. The truth stings? 😂

It’s fair game!

Regan Smith, who is an adult, has made it very clear on social media (and elsewhere) where she stands politically.

Play ball.

Er…

Bossanova (who I still cannot tell if he is an actual Magahead or is role playing) described her (correctly), and I got downvoted for agreeing with this FACT.

(And I now already know not to support her or her sponsors.)

Ok?

(Try a third time….)

And….that is important to me when I choose who to follow or which sponsors to support.

(How was that, SwimSwam?)

Bobthebuilderrocks

You might want to stay away from 80% of the US team then

Well, I follow very few. I’m careful and choosy. But 80%? Really? Red Hat Lovers?

I thought swimming was an “intelligent” sport. 🤷🏼‍♂️

I think thought Pan complained that his coach got wet when Alexy did a tumble turn in training. Not sure how Alexy is supposed to tumble turn without causing a splash. He’s huge.
