Lilly Robertson has announced she will transfer to South Carolina after spending her freshman season at Tennessee.
“Tennessee has been such a big part of my life and I’m so thankful for everything it’s given me, especially my teammates. This decision definitely wasn’t easy.
I’ve decided to continue my swimming and academic career at South Carolina for the next three years.
A huge thank you to the coaching staff for giving me this opportunity and making this happen.
Really excited for what’s ahead ❤️🖤”
Robertson is originally from Franklin, Tennessee so she will transfer out of state to South Carolina. She arrived at Tennessee this fall and swam at Tennessee’s home meets. She had a strong showing at the Tennessee vs Duke dual meet at the end of January, swimming to lifetime bests in both the 100 (49.25) and 200 (1:48.61) freestyles.
She did not swim at SECs and finished her season at the Tennessee Last Chance Invite. She swam a 23.24 50 free, 49.82 100 free, 1:48.80 200 free, and a 55.01 100 back then.
Robertson’s Best SCY Times Are:
- 50 free: 22.93
- 100 free: 49.25
- 200 free: 1:48.61
The South Carolina women finished 5th at the 2026 SEC Championships with 668.5 points, finishing just ahead of Auburn who was 6th with 666.5 points. The Tennessee women were 2nd at SECs with 1086 points.
Robertson is the latest sprint freestyler to announce her transfer to South Carolina as she joins Kate Murray who is transferring from fellow SEC school Auburn. Murray is a 22.79/49.00 sprint freestyler. Robertson’s 100 free would have been 3rd on the roster for South Carolina this past season so she has potential to be on the team’s sprint free relays.
