Jason Zhao Swims Lifetime Best 49.26 100 Free On Final Night Of Indy Sectionals

2026 Indianapolis Sectionals

The final night of competition in Indianapolis featured Jason Zhao who won the men’s 100 free in a lifetime best 49.26. Zhao just finished his collegiate season as he swam on Stanford’s 800 free relay that finished 2nd at the 2026 NCAA Championships on Thursday evening.

Michigan commit Anthony Dornoff swam to a lifetime best 2:03.30 en route to a win in the 200 IM. That dropped from his previous best of a 2:03.74 from August’s Junior Nationals. Wilson York was 2nd in a 2:05.19. York also had a 2nd place finish in the 50 breast as he touched in a 28.51, behind Henry Lee who won in a 28.45.

In his first ever 800 free of his career, Fedor Didenko swam to a win as he touched in a 8:20.61. Didenko represents Kazakhstan at the international level. He finished ahead of Ilia Sibirtsev who was 2nd in a 8:22.38.

Highlighting the girls side of the final evening was the 1500 free as Margot Levesque as she touched in a 17:01.21. Levesque, a Virginia Tech commit, dropped from her previous best 17:20.79 from 2023. Levesque’s entry time during the qualification period was a 17:41.92.

Audrey Derivaux continued her win streak at the meet, touching 1st in the 200 IM with a 2:14.16. Her lifetime best is a 2:10.58 that she swam for gold at World Juniors last August. Derivuax touched ahead of Kayla Han was who 2nd in a 2:17.33.

Sofiya Abubakirova won the girls 100 free in a 56.78, just off her lifetime best 56.26 from World Juniors as she represents Kazakhstan at the international level. Emily Wolf was 2nd in a 57.00. The final win came in the 50 breast as Ali Pearson won in a 32.98.
