There are minimal scratches for the first morning of competition in Irvine. The boys 200 fly featured two scratches. The top scratch is #3 seeded Shareef Elaydi who was entered with a 1:58.92. That entry time was from last summer’s Summer Championships in Irvine when he won the ‘B’ final.
Elaydi’s season best is a 2:00.28 that he swam for 23rd at US Summer Nationals in prelims. He went on to swim a 2:00.70 for 23rd in finals. Elaydi has a busy week as he is entered in seven other events including the 100 breast where he is the #6 seed this morning.
Also scratching the boys 200 fly is #24 seeded Andrew Maksymowski. Maksymowski was entered with a 2:02.94 which he swam at last summer’s Summer Championships. He has only raced the event one time this summer when he posted a 2:07.06. He is entered in eight other events this week.
There are no scratches in the girls 200 fly, girls and boys 50 back, and girls and boys 100 breast.
