265 Division I women and 202 Division men have entered the transfer portal so far for swimming and diving. The portal is now closed for most athletes, with some exceptions being a head coaching change, graduate transfers, or if a program is cut.

The SEC led the way with 33 athletes in the portal including 27 swimmers. 15 of those athletes have now signed with another school.
Although the SEC led the way as a conference, Marshall led the way as an individual school as 21 women entered the portal. Four of those athletes have signed elsewhere. Marshall originally cut the program back in February and did not reinstate the program until March 18th, after the portal had opened.

The ACC and MPSF had 23 athletes each on the men’s side enter the portal. The MPSF men’s total primarily consists of men from Cal Baptist as 13 men entered the portal after Cal Baptist announced back in January that it would cut men’s swimming and diving.
Despite the program being cut, Cal Baptist did not lead the way for a single school in the portal. Youngstown State led the way with 14 men, although that program went through a coaching change this spring. Head coach Brad Smith stepped down from his position back in March and earlier this month it was announced that Hannah Saiz would take over as head coach.
Ohio State had nine men enter the portal making up almost half of the 20 total athletes that entered from the Big Ten.
