Finals Heat Sheet
There were three scratches among top-16 athletes for the first night of the 2026 Pro Swim Series stop in Sacramento.
The first event of the session is the men’s 1500 freestyle, and 3rd seed Joshua Brown, who is racing for the Sandpipers of Nevada and attends the University of Michigan, has scratched the event.
This scratch moved Darwin Anderson into the top 8. Anderson’s lifetime best is 15:45.30 from August of 2025. He swims for BYU and Cougar Aquatics.
There were two other top-16 scratches. NC State’s Daniel Diehl, who was seeded 3rd in the 200 IM after swimming 2:03.11 in prelims scratched the final, moving Jack Maddan into the championship heat with his prelims swim of 2:05.66, and it moved UBC Thunderbirds’ Tanner Cole into the consolation final at 2:07.35.
Finally, in the women’s 100 backstroke, 16-year-old Chloe Cooper from Orinda Aquatics scratched the event. This moved 18-year-old Victoria Williams from Upper Dublin Aquatics into the final at 16th with her 1:05.98 swim in prelims.
