My thoughts on the US preparation cycle for international events after selection meets:
Pick 1 east coast venue & 1 west coast venue as permanent team USA training camp venues. If a European locale, assign east coast & if an Asia or Aussie locale assign west coast. Also pick 1 permanent locale in Europe & 1 permanent locale in Asia for late stage transition venues as-needed the week or so before the international event.
USA Swimming should gather all the executives & stakeholders to have a strategy session where everyone’s feelings are valued & everyone’s opinions are respected before deciding on Stanford, Georgia Tech, Chartres France & Singapore as the permanent venues because those are the best choices & that’d… Read more »
