10 From Hoosiers Water Polo Receive All-Academic honors; IU ranks 8th in team GPA

The Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) announced their 2015 Women’s All-Academic teams on Friday, July 3. Ten members of the 2015 Indiana Water Polo squad received All-Academic Honors for their outstanding achievements in the 2014-15 academic year. As a team, Indiana ranked eighth academically across all divisions, boasting a team grade point average of 3.37.

For several Hoosiers, this year wasn’t their first selection to the ACWPC All-Academic team. Shelby Taylor and Summer Creighton received their fourth consecutive selection to the team, followed by Candyce Schroeder and Rebecca Gerrity with three selections each, and Ellie Stott and Alexis Jones with two selections apiece. Both Taylor and Gerrity received outstanding honors (3.71-4.00) throughout their IU careers.

Three of Indiana’s freshmen in 2015 earned All-Academic honors. Kelly Matthews and Sarah Myers earned outstanding honors, while Sarah Young earned superior honors in her first academic year.

Indiana University has totaled 105 ACWPC All-Academic selections in the award’s 15-year history. View the full list of the 2015 honorees below:
