This Friday’s NCAA Division I dual meet between the home team NC State and Virginia has been cancelled for both men and women, as a precaution against the anticipated inclement weather set to hit the North Carolina area this weekend.

Winter Storm Jonas is slated to affect millions of Americans from the midwest to the mid-Atlantic coastline, with blizzard-like conditions and dangerous temperatures possible.

As a result of Friday’s cancellation, Virginia will join NC State at UNC-Chapel Hill on Jan. 29 for a tri-meet. The meet is tentatively scheduled for a 5 p.m. start inside Koury Natatorium, with NC State’s senior swimmers scheduled to be recognized prior to the start of the meet.

The NC State diving team’s dual meet with Clemson scheduled for Saturday in Greensboro, North Carolina, has also been cancelled, and Virginia’s diving meet against Richmond scheduled for January 29th (the date of the makeup tri meet) has been postponed. The two teams are trying to confirm a makeup date.
