IHSA Finalist Annie Gosselin Commits to Ohio University Bobcats

Academy Bullets backstroker/IMer Annie Gosselin has committed to swim for Ohio University starting next fall. She’s finished in the top 10 in the 100 back at the IHSA Championships in each of her years at Rosary High School, and adds to that a 4th place finish in the 200 IM as a sophomore.

Gosselin’s Best Times (SCY)

  • 100 back – 56.38
  • 200 back – 2:01.65
  • 50 fly – 25.69
  • 100 fly – 56.46
  • 200 IM – 2:04.03
  • 400 IM – 4:26.02

Gosselin’s bests would’ve landed her 3rd in the 200 IM and 2nd in the 400 IM on the Bobcats’ top times list from last season. At last year’s MAC Championships, Gosselin would have made B finals in the 100 and 200 back as well as the 200 IM, and would’ve squeaked into the A final in the 400 IM. She also would’ve just missed the B final of the 100 fly.

The Bobcats should benefit significantly from Gosselin’s presence on campus– she looks ready to score in three events (possibly one or more in the A final range), and the Bobcats will need scorers like Gosselin to move up from the 6th place finish they posted at last year’s MAC Champs. They finished 83.5 points behind 5th place finishers Miami (Ohio).

Gosselin joins Kelsey Hahn and Emily Zimcosky in Ohio’s class of 2020. Hahn and Zimcosky are both freestylers, while the latter is a bit quicker than Gosselin in the 100 and 200 backstrokes.
