Maddie Rusch:
Maddie Rusch was born and raised in Connecticut. Growing up Maddie played softball and swam, but when she started high school at New Canaan she decided to just pursue her swimming career. While in high school, Maddie was a three time All American, the state record holder in the 50 free, and helped her team to two conference titles (courtesy of goduke.com). While at Duke, Maddie has continued her sprint career training for the 50 free, 100 free and 100 fly.
Club:
In Connecticut, Maddie swims for the New Canaan YMCA Caimans club team under Jason Paige and Richard Ludermann where she was both a Winter and Summer Junior National qualifier.
College:
2013-2014:
Her freshman year at Duke, Maddie was a member of both the ACC and NCAA Championship team. At ACCs she was a part of the program record setting 200 medley, 400 medley, 200 free and 400 free relays. She also scored for the Blue Devils at the ACC championship meet in the 50 free, 100 free and 100 fly.
Personal:
At Duke, Maddie is majoring in Sociology while receiving a certificate in Markets and Management Studies.
