For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Jenna Ravarino from Concord, California has announced her commitment to swim and study at Vanderbilt University beginning in the 2022-2023 school year.

“I am honored and excited to announce my verbal commitment to further my academic and athletic careers at Vanderbilt University!! I want to thank God, my family, coaches, teammates and friends for the endless support and help to get me where I am today, I could not have done this without any of  you💛🖤 I am so excited to be a part of the Vandy swim family!! #anchordown”

Ravarino swims for Orinda Aquatics out of Moraga, CA. In June, she achieved short course best times at a dual meet. Those best times were in the 50 freestyle (23.96), 100 freestyle (52.13), and 100 butterfly (57.03).

She continued her success into her long course season as she obtained numerous best times at Roseville Sectionals in July. Those long course best times included the 50 freestyle (26.61), 100 freestyle (59.25), 200 freestyle (2:13.96), and 100 butterfly (1:06.35). Her 50 freestyle best time was achieved in a swim-off and also was her first Winter Juniors cut.

Ravarino began her senior year this fall at Carondelet High School in Concord, CA.

Her best short course times are:

  • 50 freestyle: 23.96
  • 100 freestyle: 52.13
  • 200 freestyle: 1:57.97
  • 100 butterfly: 57.03

Vanderbilt University is a private university located in Nashville, Tennessee. The school is a member of the SEC.

At the 2021 SEC Championships, the Vanderbilt women finished 12th out of 12 teams. It took times of 22.72 in the 50 freestyle, 49.27 in the 100 freestyle, and 54.12 in the 100 butterfly to earn a spot in finals at the 2021 SEC Championships.

Based on her best times, Ravarino would have been seventh in the 50 freestyle, fourth in the 100 freestyle, and seventh in the 100 butterfly on the Vanderbilt roster during the 2020-2021 season.

Ravarino will arrive on campus next fall as a member of the class of 2026 along with Taylor Carey and Caroline Mercer.
