William Keating Swims 2:02.17 200 Breast At AD 13&Over Champs, #21 13-14 All-Time

The top swimmers in the Adirondack Swimming LSC competed in Shenendehowa Aquatic Center two weeks ago, just north of Albany, NY. Highlighting the meet was William Keating of the Delmar Dolphins.

The 14 year old Keating moved up the all-time ranks in the 13-14 age group as he swam to a 2:02.17 in the boys 200 breast. Keating now sits at #21 all-time in the 13-14 age group, ahead of names such as Matt Fallon and Jake Foster. Keating dropped 0.55 seconds en route to the win. He has made huge strides in the event this winter as his best time coming into the season was a 2:09.25 from last April.

Keating also swam to a 57.03 in the 100 breast, just off his best of a 56.77 that sits tied at #44 all-time in the age group. He also won the 200 IM in a 1:55.06, a half a second drop off his lifetime best.

Fayth Goodspeed of Schenectady-Saratoga Swim Club had a strong showing on the girls side, swimming to a season best 2:15.11 in the 100 breast. According to her high school’s swimming Instagram page, she plans to go to “Indian River State College in Florida for two years to swim then transfer to another school after.” She also swam to a 1:03.07 in the 100 breast.

Other Highlights:

  • Anderson Baird of Schenectady-Saratoga Swim Club dropped three seconds to win the boys open 400 IM in a 3:52.58
  • 16 year old Emma Shao swam to a lifetime best 1:03.57 in the 100 breast, a 0.11 second drop. She also dropped 0.51 seconds to touch in a 2:17.75 in the 200 breast. She showed off her versatility, also swimming best times in the 100 fly (55.95) and 200 back (2:02.97)
