2018 YMCA SHORT COURSE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

David Curtiss of Tri-Hampton YMCA (PA) may have had the swim of the day. Curtis won the men’s 50 free tonight with a personal best of 19.75, making him the only swimmer to break the 20-second barrier. Only 15 year old, Curtis dropped an impressive 22/100ths from his previous PR, which stood at 19.97. Though he did not eclipse Ryan Held‘s YMCA National Record of 19.52, he nonetheless became the 5th-fastest 15-16 all-time in the 50 yard freestyle.
