Energy Standard has won the first-ever International Swimming League title by fewer than 10 points.

At the conclusion of Saturday’s ISL Grand Finale, the Turkey-based team led the London Roar by fewer than 10 points, 453.5-444. Energy Standard, the league’s first team (which had experience with the format from its prior Energy for Swim events) went undefeated this season.

London led for much of Saturday, but failed to advance a swimmer into the semifinal of the men’s skins race, which sealed Energy Standard’s win. London’s Kyle Chalmers and Duncan Scott finished fifth and sixth, respectively, in the first skins heat.

Bolstered by Daiya Seto‘s ISL debut — in which he picked up three individual wins and a world record — Energy Standard picked up nine wins over the course of the Friday-Saturday meet. Overall MVP Sarah Sjostrom won the women’s 50 free and skins races. The team won three relays (women’s 4×100 free, men’s 4×100 medley, mixed 4×100 free).

FINAL SCORES

  1. Energy Standard – 453.5
  2. London Roar – 444
  3. Cali Condors – 415.5
  4. LA Current – 318
