USD’s Padgett, Fawcett Claim First Swimmer of the Week Awards

ELMHURST, Ill. – South Dakota’s Hunter Padgett was named Summit League Men’s Swimmer of the Week while teammate Quinn Fawcett earned Women’s Swimmer of the Week award for their performances during the week of Oct. 5-11.

  • Collects his first career Summit League Swimmer of the Week award
  • Freshman won his first two collegiate events to help USD defeat league-rival Western Illinois
  • Broke a 19-year-old school record in the 400 freestyle (4:11.42)
  • His winning time of 1:57.68 in the 200 free is the second fastest in the league this season

QUINN FAWCETT, SOUTH DAKOTA
Fr. // Fort Collins, Colo.

  • Named Summit League Swimmer of the Week for the first time in her career
  • Freshman claimed her first two individual victories of her collegiate career
  • She earned three victories in four individual events over two meets over the weekend
  • Her times in the 200 free (1:57.55) and 500 free (5:20.33) are both fastest in the league this season
