Coming off a record-breaking season opening meet, Nick Graham had given himself quite a benchmark to meet. Yet, Graham still handily secured victory on both the one and three-meter boards with score of 318.97 and 351.55, respectively.
Behind Graham, Henry Summers once again produced the most notable score among the other Seton Hall divers. Summers secured second place on the one-meter board with a score of 253.57, a score slightly lower than last meet’s end result.
Swimming
The Hall continued its run of form in the bookending relay events, securing victory in both the 200 medley (1:31.25) and 200 freestyle (1:24.04) relays, although the final relay was exhibitioned.
Through two meets, freshman Zach McLeod has had a knack for theatrics in the 1000 freestyle. Operating with different strategy this meet, McLeod and Monmouth’s Lopez del Cas ran nearly identically throughout the entirety of the race. After holding off surging Towson attack last meet, McLeod this time narrowly secured victory over Lopez del Cas by 0.04 seconds. McLeod also swam the 100 butterfly, finishing fifth in the event.
Across the board, excluding the 1000, the Pirates rotated their lineup around to experiment with swimmers in off events. While Toma Adam won the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:42.71, butterfly/IM specialist Jake Karulf came in right behind Adam in second place with a strong time of 1:43.00. Alongside the 200 freestyle, Karulf finished second in the 100 butterfly with a time of 51.33.
Later on in the meet, the 200 IM bore witness to a Pirates’ 1-2-3 finish. Freshman Daniel Krajewski was the third Pirate finisher with a time of 1:55.57.
In his lone individual event off the day, three-time 100 Butterfly BIG EAST Champion Michael Klimaszewski handily secured first place in the 100 freestyle with a time of 45.53, three-quarters of a second shy of his career best and nearly two second clear of Jaeger Ellerman in second place.
