EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The UIC swimming and diving program had itself a weekend, sweeping Evansville on Friday before splitting the day on Saturday against Southern Indiana.
On Friday, the women’s side defeated Evansville 183-55, while the men won 150-93 to get the Friday sweep. Quickly turning around for more action on Saturday, the women stuck to their winning ways, defeating Southern Indiana 220-77, while the men fell just short 140-159.
COMMENT FROM HEAD COACH ASHLEY DELL
“I’m extremely proud of the way the team handled the back-to-back road competitions this weekend. To get two wins against an MVC opponent after a 5+ hour bus ride was fantastic, and then breaking 7 pool records at Southern Indiana was an awesome way to finish the weekend. Having 2 meets right after winter training isn’t easy, but this team exceeded my expectations with it. “
COMMENT FROM ASSOCIATE HEAD COACH/ HEAD DIVING COACH SUSAN BROMBERG
“The results from this weekend show how much hard work these divers did over winter break.”
