2026 Open Water World Cup Stop 2
- April 24-25, 2026
- Ibiza, Islas Baleares, Spain
- Meet Central
Team USA brought one of its biggest cohorts in recent time to an Open Water World Cup stop this weekend. That’s because this weekend’s 10k race, which took place on Friday on the coast of Spanish island Ibiza, was a part of the formula for who will represent the stars and stripes at Pan Pacs this summer. Results from this Friday will be combined those from Open Water Nationals at the beginning of the months and those at the next World Cup stop in Italy next weekend to determine which four men and four women will compete in Irvine.
First, take a look at how the Americans fared this weekend:
Top Five American Women in Ibiza, 10k (overall place)
- Mariah Denigan (14th)
- Brinkleigh Hansen (15th)
- Becca Mann (23rd)
- Brooke Travis (29th)
- Alex Siegel (31st)
Top Five American Men in Ibiza, 10k (overall place)
- Dylan Gravley (9th)
- Ivan Puskovitch (15th)
- Joey Tepper (22nd)
- Joshua Brown (24th)
- Colin Jacobs (40th)
There are two men and two women who stand a cut above the rest when looking at favorites to make the team: Puskovitch, Gravley, Denigan, and Hansen. On the men’s side, Puskovitch and Gravley traded one and two at each of the first two determining races. Denigan, meanwhile, held #1 at both women’s races, and Hansen did the same for #2.
USA Swimming will determine the four spots per gender based on a complex math formula World Aquatics uses for world rankings. On a service level, though, use these chart to get an idea of who looks most likely to get a spot.

Note that some Americans in the Ibiza cohort are not listed on this chart. Decorated star Claire Weinstein was listed as “DNF” on the World Aquatics 10k results, as was Aiden Hammer. Alessandra Liviana Gendarmi went over World Aquatics’ time limit.

What the hell was Sims doing there in the sprint? Also who is this other American swimmer I’ve never heard of ?
likely keeping her boyfriend company
Can you think of a better training vacation, after a Winter in Ann Harbor???????????
Current points values are looking like this below my notes.
– some have points from nationals some don’t…assume about 60-70 points for those not showing.
– The point values from OW nationals are so small (WA point formula: low tier event + low strength of field) that it likely won’t make much difference.
– Men: Jacobs will need to significantly out perform 1 of Tepper or Brown to make the 4th spot. Hammer 0 points at stop 1 essentially eliminated contention.
– Women: Siegel in 5th place just behind Travis. Mann in 3rd not too far ahead of the points if either. The finishing positions of these 3 at the next stop will determine the team.… Read more »
I can’t help but think this is an “ego booster” for the top 4 respectively, but also a sign that TEAM USA will be looking at competitive finishes @ Pan Pac, too!
Good job Dylan!
From the Pan Pac entrants here in Ibiza, US end up with a Gold and Bronze from the Men 10k and a Bronze and 4th place from the Women 10k. Solid results from the US contingent here in Ibiza, keep up the good work.
