U.S. Open Qualifier Hayley Clark Sends Verbal Commitment to NC State

Hayley Clark from Chapel Hill, North Carolina, has announced her verbal commitment to North Carolina State University for the 2023-24 school year.

Clark is a junior at Chapel Hill High School. She spent her first two years at Windermere High School in Orlando, Florida, and swam with the club team Laker Swimming. At the 2020 FHSAA Class 4A State Championships, the then-sophomore Clark placed 4th in the 200 IM (2:04.04) and 6th in the 500 free (4:56.24). She also swam leg s on the runner-up 200 free relay (23.98) and the 4th-place 400 free relay (52.02).

Having moved to North Carolina before the start of her junior year of high school, she now swims for North Carolina Aquatic Club and Chapel Hill High School. Quite versatile, Clark is a Summer Juniors qualifier in the 1500 free and 400 IM and a Winter Juniors qualifier in the 500/1000 free, 100 breast, and 200 fly. At Winter Juniors-East in December, she was a top-16 finisher in the 500 free, 1650 free, and 400 IM and placed 18th in the 200 fly. She earned lifetime bests in the 500/1650 free, 100 breast, 200 fly, and 200/400 IM in Greensboro.

Clark was invited to USA Swimming’s Southern Zone Select Camp in 2019 and National Diversity Camp in 2020. She is a two-time USA Swimming Scholastic All-American and will join the Wolfpack in the fall of 2023 with Keelan Cotter, Teagan Steinmetz, and Abby Woolford.
