Jacob Peloquin of the Countryside YMCA swim club in Lebanon, OH, will stay in state next fall and join the Miami University Redhawks class of 2020. The senior at Archbishop Moeller High School was a two-time finalist at the 2014-15 Ohio State Championships, finishing 5th in the 100-yard fly (49.05) and 7th in the 100-yard back (50.29).

Peloquin’s best times are as follows:

  • 100-yard fly: 49:05
  • 200-yard fly: 1:58.92
  • 100-yard back: 50.29
  • 200-yard back: 1:53.22

Last season, Peloquin’s 100-yard best time fly would have been the fastest time posted by any Redhawks swimmer, and his 100-yard backstroke would have been the 5th fastest time. He would have also earned valuable points for the Redhawks at the 2015 Mid-American Conference Championships, where his 100-yard fly time would have placed him 6th in the A final and his 100-yard back would have placed him 7th in the B final.

So far, the Redhawks have recruited a well rounded small group to join the men’s swimming and diving program next fall; Peloquin will join freestyle/backstroker Justin Andrews and freestyle/breaststroker Nick Wukovits in the Miami University class of 2020.
