Tom Shields’ Olympic Hangover: GMM Presented by SwimOutlet.com

Gold Medal Minute presented by SwimOutlet.com

Olympian Tom Shields explains the letdown after performing on the biggest stage in sport, though you’d never know it from his performance at the 2016 USA College Challenge.  He nearly swam a personal best in the 100 yard butterfly, posting 45.00 to win by more than a second.  Shields crushed the field in the men’s 200 butterfly, turning in a 1:39.89 for the win. He was the fastest through the first 100 and came back stronger than the rest of the field, closing in 25.72 on the final 50. In the 4×100 yard freestyle relay, Shields leadoff with the fastest split, 42.53, a personal best 100 yard free for the former Cal Golden Bear.
