Kayla Kreger, a current high school senior from Toledo, Ohio, has committed to swim for Division I Niagara University. Kreger will graduate from St. Ursula Academy in spring 2020 and join the Purple Eagles’ class of 2024.
Kreger is currently a year-round swimmer for Greater Toledo Aquatic Club along with swimming for her high school team at St. Ursula’s.
“I chose Niagara University because it has everything I was looking for academically and athletically. This program has a high energy atmosphere which I loved, and I felt like I made an immediate connection with the swim team at Niagara. I am confident in Coach Eric’s ability to lead the team to future success in all areas. I look forward to the next 4 years as a student-athlete at Niagara. I want to send a special thanks to Coach Dave for always pushing me to be a better athlete and person, also to my club team- Greater Toledo Aquatic Club and Coach Brent for always being supportive! Go Purple Eagles!!”
With her current best times, Kreger would have had multiple finals performances at the 2020 MAAC Swimming and Diving Championships with the Purple Eagles. Most notably, she would have placed 12th in the 100 breaststroke (1:07.05) and 16th in the 200 IM (2:11.21).

At the MAAC Championships this year, the Purple Eagles placed 7th as a team. The team had multiple top 10 program times, and team member Hannah Charlton broke the team 200 butterfly record twice in the meet.
Kreger will begin her swimming career at Niagara University beginning fall 2020.
