Duquesne’s swimming team wrapped up its weekend in the Midwest with a 139-92 loss at Toledo Saturday afternoon. The Dukes won three individual races as well as a relay.

Senior Samantha Ray captured Duquesne’s first win of the event, by placing first in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 24.29. She was followed by freshman Kristen McKnight in second in 24.48.

The meet wrapped up with the 400 free relay team of Ray, McKnight, Claire Nobles and Sibilia winning by over three seconds with a time of 3:32.31.

“Today was an improvement from yesterday,” said head coach David Sheets. “However, we have to recognize if we want to be competitive in our conference (at the highest level), the entire team has to be able to get up and race against every program, every weekend we compete. To expect less will not help us accomplish our goals.”

The Dukes return to action on Friday, Nov. 20 as they compete in the three-day Magnus Cup Invitational at Cleveland State.
