Texas Sprinter Shayne Gregson to Stay In-State; Signs with Texas A&M

Cypress, Texas-native Shayne Gregson has signed with Texas A&M for the 2015-16 season. Gregson, who swims at Magnolia Aquatic Club, is a Speedo Winter Junior Nationals finalist in both the 50 and 100 yard freestyle events, having made the B-final in both distances at Federal Way in December.

Swimming for Tomball Memorial High School, Gregson won the Class 4A 100 free state title at the 2013 UIL State Swimming and Diving Meet in Austin. Her top times are:

50y free – 23.21
100y free – 50.40
100y fly – 56.14
100y back – 57.90

Gregson is a two-time member of USA Swimming’s Scholastic All-America Team and has the added distinction of being a 4.0 honoree. She told SwimSwam, “I have been super blessed with this opportunity to swim with such an amazing group of girls over the next four years, and I look forward to the challenges that lie ahead.  I know without doubt that this is the right choice for me both academically and athletically, and I’m excited to call Texas A&M home.”
