Peter Daland, the longtime coach of the USC Trojans and two-time Olympic coach for USA Swimming, has passed away at the age of 93 due to Alzheimer’s disease, according to the University.
USA Swimming Executive Director Chuck Wielgus says that he and the organization support the decision by Phelps to seek treatment.

The letter is signed by a group referring to themselves as “Victims of Coaching Sexual Abuse,” as well as “Supporters of Victims of Coaching Sexual Abuse,” which includes the Women’s Sports Foundation as a whole and several Olympians, high level coaches, and victims in recent high-profile coaching abuse cases.
“We know that there is a serious problem in sports today where the win-at-all costs attitude has infiltrated all levels of competition,” said USADA CEO Travis T. Tygart.
