Summer Juniors Qualifier Landon Him Makes Verbal Commitment to Dartmouth

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Landon Him from Berkley, Massachusetts has announced his verbal commitment to the application process* at Dartmouth College for 2022-23.

“I am honored to announce my verbal commitment to the admissions process at Dartmouth College. I am excited to help continue the tradition, history and legacy of Dartmouth swimming. Dartmouth’s unique academic opportunities made my decision easy. I am grateful for this opportunity and would like to thank my family, friends and coaches for their guidance and support. Go Big Green!!”

Him swims for Bluefish Swim Club and specializes mainly in fly and back. He is a Summer Juniors qualifier in the 100 fly, a Winter Juniors qualifier in the 200 fly, and a Futures qualifier in the 200 free and 100/200 back. His best SCY times date from November and December 2019 when he competed at an ABF Trials/Finals meet and the New England Senior Short Course Championships. At the LSC meet, he was runner-up in the 200 fly. He also finaled in the 100 back (8th), 200 back (11th), 50 fly (4th), 100 fly (6th), and 200 IM (7th).

In May, he notched lifetime bests in the 100m fly (56.34) and 200m fly (2:06.95) at the Mizuno Atlanta Classic, finaling in the 100/200 fly and 200 IM. His 100 fly time earned him a Summer Juniors qualification.

Best SCY times:

  • 100 fly – 49.53
  • 200 fly – 1:48.37
  • 100 back – 51.31
  • 200 back – 1:51.30
  • 200 free – 1:41.77
  • 200 IM – 1:53.97

Him will join Adam Ladman in the Big Green class of 2026. While the Ivy League shut down the 2020-21 season due to COVID, Him’s best times would have scored in the B final of the 200 fly and the C final of the 100 fly at 2020 Ivy League Men’s Championships.

*Note: A verbal commitment between an Ivy League coach and a prospective student-athlete is not an offer of admission, as only the Admission Office has that authority. The coach can only commit his or her support in the admission process. Ivy League Admission Offices do not issue “Likely Letters” before October 1 of the prospective student-athlete’s senior year of high school. The Likely Letter, while issued after an initial read of the student’s application, is not an offer of admission to the university.

If you have a commitment to report, please send an email with a photo (landscape, or horizontal, looks best) and a quote to [email protected].
