Summer Juniors Qualifier Grace Horvath Commits To Utah

The Utah women have added another member to their incoming freshman class, as Grace Horvath has verbally committed to join the Utes in Salt Lake City next fall. Horvath is currently a senior at Mountain Pointe High School in Arizona, where she trains with the Scottsdale Aquatic Club.

Last season, Horvath was a championship finalist in both of her individual races at the 2015 Arizona Division 2 State Championships. There, she picked up a pair of 5th place finishes in the 100 breast and 200 IM. Horvath is also a summer Junior Nationals qualifier, having placed in the top 16 of the 200 breast at that meet in 2015.

Horvath’s Top Times:

  • 100 free- 52.99
  • 200 free- 1:52.99
  • 100 breast- 1:04.25
  • 200 breast- 2:15.56
  • 200 IM- 2:04.91
  • 400 IM- 4:22.94

When she arrives at Utah, Horvath will have the potential to be a multiple event scorer at the Pac-12 Championships with marginal improvements from her current best times. She’s already good enough to score in the 200 breast, as her time would’ve landed her in the C-final last season. Additionally, her best time in the 100 breast puts her within tenths of what it took to score at 2016 Pac-12s, and her time in the 400 IM is within hundredths of that mark.
