Devon Bone from Wilmette, Illinois has announced his commitment to continue his academic and athletic careers at Boston University beginning in fall 2026.

Bone swims for NASA Wildcat Aquatics and most recently competed at Futures in Madison. There he posted numerous lifetime bests including a 1:04.12 in the 100 breaststroke for 12th in prelims (1:04.25 for 15th in finals) as well as a 2:23.97 in the 200 breast for 29th. His 100 breast earned him a new Summer Juniors cut while his 200 breast earned him a new Winter Juniors cut.
He began his senior year this fall at Loyola Academy. This past February, Bone swam to several school records at the Illinois High School State Championship. He swam a 56.15 in the 100 breast for 8th, a school record. He also swam on the team’s 200 medley relay that finished 3rd in a school record setting 1:30.45. He split a 25.14 on the breaststroke leg. Loyola finished 5th overall.
Bone’s Best SCY Times Are:
- 100 breast: 55.97
- 200 breast: 2:04.94
- 50 free: 21.21
- 100 free: 45.71
- 200 free: 1:42.13
The Boston University men finished 5th out of 10 teams at the 2025 Patriot League Championships with 626.5 points. Diver Zein Mahana led the way with 47 individual points while Charles Schreiner led the way in the pool with 45 individual points.
Based on his best times, Bone would already make the conference ‘B’ final in the 100 breast. The team’s highest finisher in the 100 breast was Andy Carlson who swam to 12th in a 55.05. Carlson was also the team’s top 200 breaststroker as he swam a 2:00.22 for 10th. Bone’s best time in the 200 breast would have made the conference ‘C’ final. The ‘C’ final was added to the Patriot League Championships in 2024.
Bone will arrive next fall as a member of the class of 2030 along with Carson Day from North Carolina. Day primarily swims fly and free.
